K‑Youth Development Programme 2026 is a structured talent development initiative designed to prepare young Malaysians for high-demand roles in the solar energy industry — from professional system design to hands-on installation and maintenance.

Degree Holders

GCPV System Designer

Become a professional Solar Designer specialising in Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV) system design

Programme: Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV) System Design

Programme Structure:

1 month of skills training
3 months of industrial training (On-the-Job Training, OJT)

Requirements:

Open to Malaysian youth below 30 years old
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related fields
Currently unemployed
Have not participated in any similar programme (e.g. Protégé, MySTEP)
Committed to attending in-person soft skills and technical/practical training sessions
Demonstrates a strong interest in the Solar PV industry

Diploma / SPM holders

Solar System Installer

Become competent, industry-ready professionals—specifically, Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV) System Installer and Solar PV Supervisors

Programme: Solar System Installation and Maintenance Programme

Programme Structure:

2 months of skills training
2 months of industrial training (On-the-Job Training, OJT)

Requirements:

Open to Malaysian youth aged 18 to 30
Possess a minimum qualification of SPM / SPMV / TVET / Diploma
Currently unemployed
Have not participated in any similar programme
Able to pass the screening and assessment conducted by SHRDC
Willing to be relocated based on company placement requirements
