High Income Talent Research Scientist Engineer (HIT-RSE)

Overview

HIT RSE aims to breed a new cluster of dynamic, high talent engineers that has the Competencies, Creativity, Capabilities and Capacity to utilize research scientific and engineering thinking. Its key mission is to accelerate and boost the country’s talent pool – a key enable for moving into a knowledge-intensive and advanced technology sectors to support an innovation-led culture, and the ability to move beyond expectation and change the direction of Malaysia’s economy. Graduates of this program are groomed to strategically perform as inventors, innovators, designers and engineering leaders.

What are the Objectives of HIT RSE?

The HIT RSE aims to:
  • Accelerate the growth of the industry’s own talents in fields t hat will add highe value and income to their companies by providing key technology training thus enabling them to compete for higher value engineering jobs.
  • Attract Malaysia’s Premium Fresh Talent to remain in the countr y by providing talent development and career opportunities in high income fields through placements in world class organizations.

What are the Programs Involved with HIT RSE?


There are six (6) approved programs under HIT RSE. These are:
  1. Analog RFIC Design
  2. Cloud Computing
  3. Engineering Design for Electrical & Electronics
  4. LNG & Refinery
  5. Piping System Design
  6. System Design and Integration

How would the Program be implemented?

HIT RES will be implemented by way of a series of teaching methodologies that will encourage a student’s success under the program. These methodologies are:
  1. Coaching / Mentorship program
  2. Company based projects
  3. Coach / Mentor’s selection criteria
  4. Performance target determination process
  5. Technical award / presentation
  6. Class room training (where necessary)
Students will be carefully vetted through and are required to attend a Boot Camp and an interview session. Successful candidates will be notified of their acceptance into the program after these procedures.


What are the Program’s Implementation Processes?

The HIT RSE program features a six (6) step implementation process that ensures only the best  candidates are selected for this exceptional training program. These steps are

1.       Sourcing for student candidates, which can be achieved through:

–        Advertisements in local newspapers

–        Working in tandem with Talent Corporations

–        Approaching sponsoring companies for candidates with 1 – 2 years working experience

2.       Filtering of candidates through:

–        Resume reviews

–        Notifying prospective candidates of their entry interview

–        Phone interviews for outstation candidates

–        Face-to-face interviews for local candidates

–        Matching student candidates with sponsoring companies’ requirements

3.       Candidates selection

–        Potential candidates are required to attend a briefing session

–        Participation in the program’s Conduct Extreme Engineering Boot Camp

–         Interviews

4.       Successful candidates will be invited to the Induction process which includes Administrative Activities

5.       Commencement of HIT RSE program where candidates will benefit from:

–        Coaching and mentoring on sponsoring companies’ identified projects

–        On-site coaching and mentoring

–        Off-site coaching and mentoring

–        Student follow-up by program managers

–        Classroom training where necessary

6.        Conduct Performance Review

–        Targets has been established

–        Sharing of Performance Targets with student candidates

–        Quarterly performance review between students, program managers and sponsoring companies

–        Where necessary, identifying actions needed to narrow the performance gap
