Talent Development (NKEA)
The government has identified 12 National Key Economic Areas (NKEA) to kickstart the Economic Transformation Programme that will collectively contribute towards Malaysia achieving its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2020. This will also generate additional medium-to-high paying jobs that will propel the country to high-income status.
The 12 NKEAs are Financial Services, Tourism, Education, Agriculture, Communication Content and Infrastructure, Palm Oil, Healthcare, Wholesale and Retail, Electronics and Electrical, Oil, Gas and Energy, Business Services and Greater Kuala Lumpur/Klang Valley.

National Talent Enhancement Programme (NTEP)
The NTEP is part of the six Strategic Reform Initiatives (SRI) of Malaysia’s human resource development plan. An initiative within the Electrical and Electronics (E&E) NKEA, it is a 12-month long trainee programme to help develop industry-relevant skills through a smart partnership with E&E companies.
High Income Talent Research Scientist Engineer (HIT-RSE)
Launched in November 2011 by SHRDC and Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), the HIT-RSE programme is one of the approved programmes under the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) to transform Malaysia into a developed nation by 2020. It aims to enhance undergraduates’ employability for high impact careers in the Electronic & Electrical, Oil and Gas, CCI and other pillars.
Industrial Skill Enhancement Program (INSEP)
The Industrial Skills Enhancement Program (INSEP) is a comprehensive training programme for unemployed diploma/degree graduates. It offers them the opportunities to acquire and gain much needed industrial skills as well as experience and qualification that will allow them to further their employability and career growth potential in the global workplace.
Workers Technical Transformation Program (WTTP)
The Workers Technical Transformation Program (WTTP) is a program especially for SPM leavers. The program will equip school leavers with the necessary technical skills for the manufacturing sector to meet the high demand for skilled manpower that is needed in the sector.
