What is it?

Malaysia is a major producer and international supplier of quality plastics producing plastics that are used all over the world across a variety of applications. Research and development in the plastic industry are closely monitored by local and international bodies to ensure Malaysian plastics meet international standards at all times and the SHRDC boosts this initiative by providing courses in:

  • Plastic Parts Designing and Manufacturing Processes
  • Mould Making, Conceptual Designing and Prototyping
  • Fenite Element Analysis in part designing cycle
  • Plastics processing in injection moulding, plastics film extrusion and etc

Who does it?

To support the growth of its plastics industry, Malaysia requires personnel with a high level of expertise and specialist skills. SHRDC established smart partnership with The Centre for the Development of Plastics Application (CESAP), Italy, The Italian Plastics and Rubber Processing Machinery and Mould Manufacturers' Association (Assocomaplast) and various CAD/CAM vendors in providing solution in this manner.

How do we do it?

The SHRDC focuses on increasing and improving performance by developing competencies in new plastics technology. Through a series of courses, the SHRDC equips participants with relevant skills and knowledge that will give them the edge in their field. Courses are conducted with the aid of advanced automated equipment sourced from our partners in Italy. This way, participants benefit from practical exposure to advanced technologies in plastics processing like injection moulding, film extrusion machineries.

SHRDC also provides assistance to SMEs by helping them enhance organizational competencies and better assimilate new plastics technology. This includes courses in plastics part designing along with manufacturing processes such as conceptual design, prototyping, mould making and pilot production in the injection moulding process. On the other hand, we also provide Reverse Engineering service in Plastics Designing field.

We have over the years developed strong ties with various partnerships skilled in the plastics industry giving them an edge with technology transfer. With such expertise and facilities, we are able to provide comprehensive equipment with capabilities to help SMEs from designing plastic parts to testing and prototyping saving SMEs major cost and investment. SHRDC provides very niche training programs in this field targeted at very specific skills.
