What is it
SHRDC Essential Skills is a series of 19 specific training modules targeted at people who want to get ahead with a 360 degree grasp of essential soft skills for better and excellent productivity. Historically developed to support our technical customers’ demands, our Essential Skills program is now a stand-alone entity capable of drawing in its own customers. The secret recipe to workplace success is having great interpersonal skills, great communication skills, good management and leadership, and skills in building and managing winning teams. These have been fine tuned by SHRDC and offered back as powerful and proven soft skills trainings.
Who does it
We employ only highly skilled and experienced master trainers with strong industry backgrounds in their areas of expertise. We collaborate with prestigious industry training centres such as Boxhill TAFE College, and are the authorised representative in Malaysia for the Edward de Bono Thinking Methods Certification.
How do we do it
Our courses are designed to stimulate individuals in reaching their highest potential in interpersonal relationships, creativity and innovation, team building and knowledge management. Intertwined within our courses are:-
- Experiential learning
- Problem solving exercises
- Development on an individual’s inherent personal qualities
- Relevant people management skills
- Emphasis on individuals and teams alike in fulfilling company end goals
- Critical thinking and lateral thinking games
- Learning how to have a value add and innovation culture
- Adopting a Want To Learn attitude
- Achieving performance breakthroughs
Our train-the-trainer-program is an intensive and complete program arming potential trainers with everything they need to become first class professional trainers. They learn not only to deliver coherently but amongst other things, to design curriculum, methods in assessment and evaluation, health and safety issues and so on. This is collaborated with Boxhill College in Australia whereby trainers are certified and are awarded additional recognition to work for TAFE related colleges in Australia.
Who will benefit
In today's business world, having the right technical skills really isn't enough to get or stay ahead. Instead, one not only has to possess the X-factor but be constantly on the go in the right direction in order to be considered for entry into the pool of 'employable' employees. What marks you out? What can you do that's different from the thousands running the same race? How will you win with a competitive edge? Thus, employees at all levels from management to technical would benefit from essential skills programs.
-
We have the largest pool of qualified Edward DeBono trainers who are able to deliver the breadth of long-established DeBono programs all at one location to inspire creativity and innovation in people.
-
Change Management Guru, John Kotter of Harvard has endorsed SHRDC as its exclusive training partner in Malaysia to offer the Leading Bold Change program as it is extremely necessary in today's world what with mergers and acquisitions, restructuring exercises and the speed of technology and ICT. Change is happening all the time and SHRDC teaches how to manage it best at a very affordable fee.
-
We have also developed a special team building program which has its own purposed built team building area in Genting Awana. The Awana Domino Race is a fun, stimulating and powerful series of life-changing experiences, not just another team-building exercise.
-
Professor Chris Trimble and Vijay Govindarajan teach Inside Innovation, a lesson in innovating our products and services to stay ahead. These actionable programs can all be followed through, and are easily understood as they are delivered as stories and analogies.
As an organisation, you certainly want that entire pool of 'employable' employees to move you in the right direction. That pool of people who are empowered and equipped with the right interpersonal and relationship building skills, combined with their relevant technical expertise will certainly turbo charge your organisation towards your dynamic company objectives.
